The Greatest Injustice of our World

Oaktree

Looking back over the past 6 months at Oaktree UK, I get tremendously excited about where we've come from and where we're going. Oaktree UK is becoming an amazing platform for young people to take hold of the opportunity of our generation. If we choose to harness world resources, information and technology, we can end extreme poverty once and for all.

It's been a privilege to be part of this team of enthusiastic young volunteers. This year we have seen many talented people join us in our mission to empower young people through education to make lasting change in their communities. We began fundraising together back in February. Fifteen events, taking place across Oxford on one day, raised over £1500. We're really looking forward to our upcoming in partnership with Oxford Entrepreneurs - The Oxprentice.

Schools 4 Schools, our flagship development programme, is kicking off this July with a life-changing trip to KwaZulu-Natal by three students from UK schools. Daniel, Victoria, and Ely will be creating a documentary of their experiences in their partner schools and at the ENKE Young Leadership forum. The programme is all about creating genuine partnership between young people in South Africa and the UK. By doing so, we can learn from one another, and support each other in building a fairer world.

At Oaktree UK we have a vision of equal education for all young people across the world. We understand that education is a key to breaking the poverty cycle, and we believe that education-empowered youth can make a real change in their communities, and are better able to change their futures.

We're so excited about the future of Oaktree UK - and about the potential we have to make an impact in the lives of our peers and friends around the world. We'd love you to join us on this journey.
